How long does it last?
Without Base Coat and Top Coat, the color lasts up to 3 days. We don’t recommend that, though: without Top Coat it chips quickly and has no shine. With Base Coat and Top Coat, it lasts about 2 weeks, according to the manufacturer. Refresh the Top Coat every 2–3 days with a thin coat.
How long the color lasts also depends on your technique, the condition of your nails, the shade and how often your hands are in water.
Do I need a UV lamp?
No. The pen, Base Coat and Top Coat air-dry: according to the manufacturer, 3–5 minutes per coat of color, and about 2 minutes for the Top Coat.
How it works
Prep, Base Coat, shake, paint, second coat, Top Coat. You’ll find every step and our tips further down.
How do I take the color off?
With nail polish remover and a cotton pad: press it on the nail for a moment, wait a few seconds, wipe it off. The 10-Pen Set includes a 30 mL remover.

Brush or pen?
Animation for illustration. Colors may look slightly different on screen.
Neat, even with your other hand.
You draw the color on in a few straight strokes, like writing with a pen. The firm felt tip holds the line, even if you usually go over the edges with a brush.
How it works. 6 steps.
Everything air-dries. With Base Coat and Top Coat, the color lasts about 2 weeks, according to the manufacturer.
-

Step 1: Prep
File your nails, push back the cuticles, wipe each nail with rubbing alcohol.
-
about 2 minStep 2: Base Coat
Apply one thin coat and let it dry for about 2 minutes. On wet Base Coat, the color goes streaky.
-

Step 3: Shake
With the cap on, shake the pen hard and tap its end on the table a few times until the tip is full of color.

Good to know
- Best in the eveningPaint after you’ve showered and done the dishes. No water for the first hour, and no hot water until the next morning.
- Cap onClose the cap tightly right after painting, or the tip dries out. Store it somewhere cool, out of the sun.
- No color coming out?Close the cap, shake hard and tap it on the table. If that doesn’t help, store the pen tip-down for a while.
- Dry tip?Briefly swipe the tip over a cotton pad with a little nail polish remover.
